We are excited to announce that our practice will be re-opening on June 16th, 2020 for a wider spectrum of dental care.
When we think about the individuals that bring us joy in fulfilling our vision for health and well being we immediately think of you, our patients and friends. We miss you greatly and strive to be available for you as we get ready to open the practice beyond emergency consults.
Dr. Chu’s original goal in the heartbreaking decision to close the practice was to suppress the spread of the virus and reduce the use of protective masks, surgical gowns, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) that hospitals found in short supply. This also gave us the opportunity to reinforce what we have always done when it comes to sterilization and infection control, as well as implement additional steps to make sure that every patient can be assured a safe dental experience. These steps makes us fully compliant with our governing body, the Royal College of a Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
Going forward, appointments will be prioritized to patients with the most immediate needs (ie. uncontrolled pain, bleeding and infection), and we will only permit one patient in the entire building per hour, after strict screening for Covid. All staff will be fully protected by PPE as well as the patient upon entry with strict adherence to hand and mouth hygiene. Family members are not permitted to accompany patients unless it is a minor. Our team is now reaching out to patients who had to cancel their appointments due to the shut down as well as those who are currently scheduled in the coming months to confirm new appointments that will allow social distancing and protect our most vulnerable.
